Having the language MP3s has saved me a lot of time and energy. I chose the Pimsleur CD's, which uses the graduated interval recall method and the principle of anticipation (i.e. guessing what the question is going to be before it's actually asked) to stimulate the learning of a language. So far, I've been impressed with my abilities to learn and remember the things being taught, but I'm still far what my grammar and vocabulary expectations would suggest my speaking is at. However, I was able to sit back on the plane and go over mock conversations with my imaginary Indonesian friend. In the 7 hours of flying, I went over lessons 4 and 5, which was great.
As far as studying the chapters went, I wasn't able to study chapters 11 and 12, which puts me 2 days behind on my studies, but I'm hoping to have the time to catch up today, the 11th, which is when I'm posting because I wasn't able to post any sooner. However, I know that even though I'm falling behind the expectation, I simply have to rededicate myself and begin with rule number 1: Don't take a day off.
Good luck with your language learning friends. Stay Thirsty.
